Responsibilities

The opportunity:

As the Accounting Manager at Go1, you’ll play a key role in driving the integrity and accuracy of our global financial reporting. Reporting to the US-based Assistant Controller and managing a team of 8 (5 direct reports) across the APAC region, this role blends leadership, process ownership, and strategic insight. With a strong emphasis on month-end close, audit coordination, and continuous process improvement, you’ll be empowered to take initiative, lead through change, and collaborate across functions. Based in the Australian Eastern Time Zone (AEST/AEDT), this role supports a globally distributed team and executive leadership primarily located in the United States—so flexibility in working hours will be essential to ensure strong collaboration and visibility.

What does an Accounting Manager do every day at Go1?

  • Lead and project manage the global month-end close process in NetSuite (in conjunction with the Revenue Accounting Manager), including accrual provisions, general ledger, and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across multiple entities and currencies.
  • Oversee a high-performing team responsible for General Ledger (GL), Payroll Accounting, and Procure-to-Pay (P2P), providing guidance and coaching to support their development.
  • Manage the preparation of statutory financial statements.
  • Build team processes which anticipate and provide answers for financial data questions from stakeholders.
  • Review journal entries and reconciliations prepared by the team, with hands-on support where necessary.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on strategic finance projects that allow greater insights into Company performance.
  • Support the preparation of monthly consolidated financial reports, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow.
  • Prepare reporting for various stakeholders (internal and external) to make informed decisions within tight reporting deadlines.
  • Collaborate with the wider team on a range of exciting finance projects.
  • Own readiness for ongoing external audits, including preparation and review of audit schedules and deliverables.
  • Work cross-functionally to help ensure timely and accurate compliance with financial, tax, and legal obligations across jurisdictions.
  • Identify and implement process and system improvements to drive efficiency, automation, and scalability.
  • Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions and eliminations.
  • Work with the Assistant Controller, Revenue Accounting Manager, and cross-functional team to maintain a strong internal control framework and sound financial foundation.
  • Coordinate effectively across time zones, including with executive leadership based in the U.S., requiring flexibility in working hours.
