About the Role

The Management Accountant is responsible for delivering accurate month‑end reporting, financial analysis, and management insights to support effective decision‑making across the business. The role partners closely with internal stakeholders and external providers on budgeting, forecasting, compliance, audits, and multi‑jurisdictional reporting requirements. With a strong focus on commercial insight, governance, and continuous improvement, this role supports the organisation’s growth through high‑quality financial information and process optimisation.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial  

  • Sales invoicing and revenue unwinding
  • Month end tasks: prepayments unwinding, depreciation, accruals, and balance sheet account reconciliations across inter-company loan accounts, deferred income, and prepayments

Reporting & Operations

  • Preparation of month-end reporting and analysis for internal stakeholders
  • Budgeting and re-forecasting scenarios
  • Assistance with sales, board and investor reporting  
  • Preparation of quarterly consolidated accounts
  • Review of quarterly VAT (UK) return
  • Assistance with preparation of income tax and fringe benefits tax returns (external provider - BDO)
  • Assistance with annual audits
  • Working with external providers on US and UK income and sales tax returns
  • Financial support for grants, awards, tenders and customer due diligence
  • Research into reporting and tax obligations in new jurisdictions
  • Assistance with process improvement implementations  
  • ESOP letters & Investor Packs

Job requirements

Requirements

  • Australian Citizenship (mandatory for NV1 defence clearance eligibility).
  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with Xero and budgeting/forecasting reporting platforms
  • Experience supporting budgeting, reforecasting, and scenario modelling
  • Ability to analyse results and prepare clear management reporting
  • Confidence to give advice regarding tax, accounting, audit principles and practices, and compliance
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and process improvement mindset
  • Willingness to learn and be challenged.
  • Proactive, curious, and adaptable in a fast growing environment  
  • High integrity and confidentiality handling financial information

Desirable (not required)

  • CA or CPA qualified
  • Strong knowledge of AASB/IFRS and month end processes (accruals, prepayments, depreciation, balance sheet recs)
  • Experience with audits and consolidated reporting
  • Working knowledge of Australian tax (PAYG, BAS, FBT) and willingness to learn UK/US tax with external providers
  • Understanding of, or willingness to learn, SaaS metrics
  • Exposure to statutory reporting requirements under the Corporations Act
  • Ability to research new jurisdiction tax/compliance obligations
