Job description

Engineering at Blinq

Our engineering team is the engine behind Blinq’s success. We’re building tools that make sharing who you are instant and human. Every line of code, every release, and every experiment is focused on driving meaningful impact. If you thrive on solving complex, high-impact problems with a tight-knit team, you’ll feel right at home here.

Role & Impact

We’re looking for a Data Engineering Manager to lead the evolution of Blinq’s data infrastructure and unlock the full power of our analytics and product insights. You’ll own the systems that help us understand how people connect—and ensure they scale with our growth. This role is equal parts strategy and execution.

You’ll lead a high-performing team of data engineers and analysts, scale the pipelines and models that drive smarter decisions, and shape how data flows across our product and business. Whether it’s powering real-time product features or enabling revenue teams with actionable insights, your work will make Blinq sharper, faster, and more intelligent.

You’ll also play a key role in defining how we build and scale our data platform—balancing reliability, performance, and agility as we grow. If you're energized by building clean, modern data systems and love turning complexity into clarity, this role is for you.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

  • Own and scale Blinq’s data infrastructure: Architect and evolve a robust, scalable data platform that powers everything from internal analytics to product-led insights
  • Lead and grow a high-performing data engineering team: Hire, mentor, and develop talented engineers who thrive in a fast-moving environment. Foster a culture of curiosity, technical excellence, and strong execution
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive data strategy: Partner with Product, Engineering, GTM, and Analytics to translate business needs into scalable data systems and pipelines
  • Build clean, reliable, and actionable data pipelines: Design and implement ETL/ELT workflows that ensure data is trustworthy, accessible, and ready to power decision-making and user-facing features
  • Define and maintain high standards for data quality and governance: Establish and enforce best practices around lineage, validation, privacy, and security—ensuring the business can trust what it sees
  • Support analytics and experimentation at scale: Work with analytics and product teams to support A/B testing, cohort analysis, and other data-driven initiatives that inform roadmap and strategy
  • Improve velocity and developer experience: Identify bottlenecks in how data is produced, transformed, and consumed—and implement tooling and processes that make teams faster, more confident, and more self-serve

Job requirements

What You'll Bring

  • Leadership Experience: 3+ years in a data or engineering leadership role, ideally within a high-growth tech company or startup environment. You've led high-performing teams and know how to scale culture and systems alongside product demand
  • Deep Data Engineering Expertise: Strong hands-on background in data architecture, pipeline design, and infrastructure. You're fluent in modern data stacks—think dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar. You understand how to build for performance, scale, and maintainability
  • Builder’s Mentality: You’re comfortable rolling up your sleeves and making technical contributions when needed, but equally skilled at stepping back to architect for the bigger picture. You know when to go fast and when to design for long-term flexibility
  • Product-Led Data Thinking: You’ve partnered closely with Product and Analytics teams to enable smarter decision-making, build user-facing data features, and turn insights into impact. You know how to translate business problems into scalable technical solutions
  • People & Communication Skills: Clear communicator with a strong coaching instinct. You give thoughtful feedback, set sharp expectations, and create a culture where engineers feel trusted, challenged, and supported
  • Tech Stack Familiarity: Bonus if you bring experience with our broader stack (Node.js, TypeScript, Postgres, GraphQL) or have worked with event-driven and stateless systems
