The Role:

As Engineering Manager, you will lead our engineering function and work closely with our CTO to refine and implement our technical strategy, along with our Engineering Managers to drive day to day execution of our roadmap. This role requires a focus on delivering commercial outcomes and maximizing customer value through our products. As a key member of our executive leadership team, you will guide the engineering organization to ensure alignment with business goals while fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Technical Strategy & Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a technology strategy that aligns with Audience Republic’s business objectives, in partnership with the Chief Architect and other executives.
  • Collaborate with the CTO, who owns our technical direction, on critical architectural decisions, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.


Product & Customer Focus:

  • Work closely with design and customer success teams to ensure our technology solutions deliver maximum value to customers.
  • Lead the engineering team in prioritizing and delivering features that align with our commercial goals and enhance the customer experience.
  • Regularly engage with customers to understand their needs and translate them into actionable engineering priorities.


Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and engineers, fostering a high-performance culture that reflects the company’s values.
  • Spearhead recruitment efforts to attract and retain top engineering talent, building a world-class engineering team.
  • Implement and uphold best practices in software development, quality assurance, and continuous delivery.

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee the end-to-end execution of the product roadmap, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Establish and monitor key engineering metrics to measure employee happiness, productivity, quality, and team performance.
  • Ensure robust processes are in place for incident management, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement.

Innovation & Growth:

  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities for innovation that drive business growth.
  • Foster a culture of experimentation and continuous learning within the engineering team, encouraging innovation and improvement.
  • Guide the team in scaling our systems to handle growing demand, ensuring reliability and efficiency.

Job requirements

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a Engineering Manager role, preferably within a technology-driven startup environment.
  • Demonstrated success in leading engineering teams to develop customer-focused products that drive commercial success.
  • Strong technical background with experience in scaling systems including large-scale production environments.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
