You’ll lead Amber’s IT Operations team, sitting at the intersection of our People Operations and Product Technology teams, ensuring our staff are productive, secure, and supported in doing their best work.

You’ll split your time between planning IT strategy, coordinating the work of the team, and  implementing. You are comfortable communicating the team's plans and progress with stakeholders, but will roll up your sleeves and get hands on when needed. This is a unique opportunity at a fast-growing start up to help us scale up the tools, technology, and processes that enable our staff to do their best work.

Responsibilities

👉🏽 Responsibilities

  • Own development and delivery of Amber’s IT Strategy, partnering with People Operations and Engineering colleagues as required
  • Manage costs and budgets regarding IT systems including contracts with vendors and software licenses.
  • Be responsible for device management and our staff asset lifecycle
  • Ensure a high quality hybrid/remote employee experience through the provisioning and maintenance of AV and other related meeting room technology
  • Administer the full lifecycle of our Okta IDP and SSO for seamless and secure employee onboarding, offboarding, and evolving access needs in line with Amber’s security policies
  • Manage our internal help desk to provide quick and effective assistance with information technology systems
  • Manage information technology projects, coordinating internal and external resources, timetables, and the reporting to project stakeholders
  • Maintain and optimize local company networks
  • Manage installations, upgrades and configurations of IT service related hardware and software

Job requirements

👉🏽 Key requirements

  • Past commercial work experience in a help desk or other front-line technical troubleshooting role
  • Relevant tertiary qualification such at a Diploma (or higher) level of Information Technology, Business Information Systems, etc
  • Excellent written, verbal and in-person communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience with system installation, configuration and analysis
  • Thorough knowledge of networks and cloud computing
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, building and maintaining trust with internal stakeholders

👉🏽 Nice to haves:

  • Prior experience administering Okta based (or closely related) IdP, SSO and employee provisioning tools
  • Prior experience monitoring a fleet of mac and windows laptops using kolide (or similar)
  • Prior experience at a high-growth start-up or scale-up
  • You’re passionate about technology, energy and/or the environment.
