Job description

About the Opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced Owners/Client-Side HSE Manager to lead health, safety, and environmental initiatives for Windlab’s Gawara Baya Wind Farm Project.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing HSE processes in alignment with Windlab’s Integrated Management System (IMS). Reporting directly to the Project Director, this role plays a key part in maintaining and continuously improving the project’s HSE management system.

Working closely with project stakeholders, the HSE Manager will foster a proactive safety culture, advocate for HSE excellence, and serve as a role model across the site.

This is a full-time, fly-in-fly-out (FIFO) position from Brisbane or Townsville based on-site at the Gawara Baya Wind Farm, located on Gugu Badhun Country in the Upper Burdekin region of North Queensland.

Responsibilities

About You

You’re a qualified and experienced HSE professional with a Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety and ideally a postgraduate qualification. A background in environmental science or management is highly valued, along with credentials as a Lead Auditor and ICAM Investigator.

You bring deep experience across major civil and electrical projects—wind farm experience is a plus. You know the regulatory landscape inside out and have a proven track record of building strong HSE cultures, managing environmental impacts, and leading incident investigations with precision.

Your leadership style is inclusive and values-driven from the field to the office. You’re a skilled communicator, strategic thinker, and problem solver who thrives in complex, remote environments. You’re confident working independently or within diverse teams, and you consistently deliver practical, high-impact solutions while keeping safety, quality, and compliance front of mind.
